About Me:
I consider it a great honor when someone invites me to help with their struggles. My passion is to help individuals heal who have been devastated by trauma, addiction, and stressful life events. I specialize in all kinds of trauma such as childhood abuse/neglect, unexpected life events, a health crisis, discrimination/racism, natural disasters, and betrayal trauma caused by deception related to infidelity, porn, emotional affairs, and addiction.
I use unique blends of EMDR therapy (certified through EMDRIA), Somatic Experiencing (Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute), and the Multidimensional Partner Trauma Model in healing betrayal trauma (certified CPS through APSATS). My therapeutic style utilizes a blend of attachment theory and neurobiology with a direct but gentle demeanor in session along with feedback where needed. I don't believe in a cookie cutter approach to therapy. Everyone is different and deserves a personalized experience when seeking help. My personal philosophy to treatment is that I do not ask someone to do what I am not willing to do myself.
A bit about me personally ...I am a 2x breast cancer survivor... a multiple trauma survivor... I am active in my own recovery process. My passion for this work has grown over the years for many reasons, but especially after I lost my younger brother to the disease of addiction in 2011. I never get tired of learning. I love studying addiction, recovery, trauma resolution, parenting, and relationships. I am fascinated by how powerful the brain and nervous system is in our healing. I incorporate a lot of neuroscience, attachment theory, and somatic experiencing into my therapy practices, continually seeking ways to supplement my knowledge through high quality training and literature.
