Course Description:

This one day workshop is designed specifically for women who have been in a relationship with someone who struggles with infidelity, pornography, or sex addiction. Discovery of betrayal is devastating and traumatic. Suffering in silence and isolation intensifies the devastation. This workshop is a great way to connect with other women who are struggling with similar hurts.

Goals of the workshop are:
  • Build community
  • Learn about and understand the impact of betrayal trauma
  • Learn about the Multidimensional Partner Trauma Model (MPTM) established by an organization called APSATS
  • Learn about the addictive cycle
  • Create a plan for healing
  • How to deal with fear, denial, losing control, anger, grief, stress, self-esteem, and body image
  • Self-care throughout the recovery process
  • Setting healthy boundaries
  • Learn what gas lighting is and how to spot it
  • Learn about how narcissism sometimes plays a part in betrayal
  • How to start healing and move forward

By definition, betrayal trauma is a post traumatic stress response to wounds of deception within a committed romantic relationship. This approach to treatment is by using the Multidimensional Partner Trauma Model (MPTM) established by an organization called APSATS.

Angie Ridings is a Certified Clinical Partner Specialist through APSATS, The Association of Partners of Sex Addicts Trauma Specialists. Angie is highly skilled and experienced in using the Multidimensional Partner Trauma Model with betrayed partners and is able to offer a sensitive, trauma informed perspective for both people involved.
